Local Bars and Restaurants - There are over 20 restaurants in Mottaret, here are a couple of my personal favourites.

Le Chatelet area (250 metre walk)

La Brizolee  Family atmosphere with great view of Mont Vallon and is a real suntrap. Extensive menu of fondues, raclette etc., with fantastic cheap takeaway pizzas. Opens at 07:30 on sat/sundays for Breaky +33 (0) 479 00 4670.
Le Rastro  Rustic pub with wood clad beams, music usually on Tuesdays, great place for apres ski and my "local" Run by a local family of Telemark skiing Brothers, including a World Champion.
Zig Zag Next door to Le Rastro, small and cosy inside, with quiet alcove at the back with darts board. Excellent steak and chips and a good value plat du jour.
La Belle Savioe - A charming little restaurant for dinner with Savoyard specialities such as home-made Tartiflette, Raclette and choice of Fondues  +33 (0) 4 79 00 53 90.

Mottaret Centre (500 metre walk)

Pizzeria du Mottaret - First rate pizza and much more  +33 (0)4 79 00 40 50
L' Annexe - Contemporary Bar with UK sports on the telly, next door to Pizzeria
Le Grenier - Located above the Olympic terrace, serves good, no-nonsense French fare at reasonable prices, always a good plat du jour.
Downstairs Bar - Recently remodeled bar that stays open late and usually has a DJ, Tuesdays are a big night.
La Table du Ruitor - A new high end restaurant just opened up, looks nice but haven't eaten there yet. +33 04 79 00 36 64

Meribel Centre (10-15 minutes on Shuttle bus)

La Kouisena Great Traditional local Savoie dishes, best Tartiflette in the valley, worth booking but fairly pricey.
Chez Kiki is a Meribel Institiution and is THE place to go for steaks.
Le Plantin a higher end restaurant on the road to La Tania just past Meribel Village with a special lunch service where they will take you to/from the piste on a husky dog sled, which although pricey is a fantastic memorable experience.
